For self-funding patients, Mr Bhat offers a unique service for minor operations, such as carpal tunnel release, trigger finger release, De Quervain’s release, removal of lumps, and the like, as outpatient procedures. These procedures cost approximately £2,500 to £3,000 when performed in the main operating theatre. Mr Bhat is now offering the same service as an outpatient from £900, depending on location. There is no other facility in the country that offers such an affordable price for surgery carried out by an experienced consultant.

The process involves an initial consultation with Mr Bhat. This is essential so that he can ensure that there is no additional or alternative diagnosis. He will also explain the surgery, the risks, the consequences of those risks, the benefits, the recovery and alternative treatments. He will also provide you with an informative “Post-operative Recovery video”. The initial consultation is £230.  If additional procedures or both hands need to be operated on simultaneously, top-up fees will be discussed at the initial appointment.

Once the decision to proceed with outpatient surgery is made, it will be timed for a 45-60 minute slot. You will not be required to fast, stop medications or bring anything with you. You will need a driver after the procedure. If you are on blood-thinning tablets, Mr Bhat will discuss them with you at the initial consultation.

The locations are Well Life Clinic (WLC) in Oxted, Surrey, on Saturdays; Spire Gatwick Park Hospital (GPK) in Horley, Surrey, on Mondays

The costs based on location are £900 at WLC and £950 at GPK.

If you wish to be seen at the WLC, please book your initial appointment at https://www.welllife-clinic.co.uk/services/hand-surgery#doctor. Please use the “initial Virtual Consultation- Hand” option if you do not wish to travel for your initial appointment.
